In a surprising outcome, a Fox News Poll found that out of a handful of the most prominent politicians, political issues, and political organizations, a Democratic Socialist and a controversial healthcare provider were by far the most popular.

The poll, which was released on Wednesday, found that out of both Republican and Democratic leadership, Senator Bernie Sanders is leading in favorable polls by a significant percentage.

The poll was conducted by telephone, and the 1,008 registered voters who were queried were selected randomly.

In the survey, Senator Sanders was viewed favorably 61 percent, while being viewed unfavorably by 32 percent of respondents. Comparably, President Trump, a man who receives constant praise from Fox, found his favorable rating dwarfed by his unfavorables: 44 percent to 53 percent.

Respondents were also asked to rate the degree in which they felt either favorably or unfavorably toward officials. Even here, Senator Sanders outperformed the rest, receiving a
“strongly favorable” response from 33 percent of those surveyed.

Another big winner in the Fox News poll was women’s health organization Planned Parenthood. While Republicans are actively attempting to defund the vital organization, 57 percent of those surveyed favored the program, while 32 percent viewed it unfavorably.

Lawmakers might want to take note of this survey’s results before doing away with a program so clearly popular. This is especially true because Republicans in Congress overall received a 63 percent disapproval rating.

Overall, it is clear that there is a major disconnect between leadership in both the Democratic and Republican party and the will of their voters. Giving the American people what they want is the key, here, and in this case, that means the Senator from Vermont and Planned Parenthood
