For better or for worse, many Democrats are already trying to formulate a plan that will force Donald Trump out of office far ahead of his 4-year term. Chiefest among those planners is filmmaker and activist Michael Moore who is already putting forth his detailed plan on how to get Trump impeached – and if not impeached, at least kicked out of office in 2020.
Moore’s media appearances have drastically increased in recent weeks, and with a Trump win, they don’t appear to be slowing down. But Moore didn’t reveal his multi-layered plan on corporate media. Instead he spoke directly to supporters in a long-winded Facebook post.
Said Moore:
“Just as the Republicans were already planning to do with President Hillary from Day One, we must organize the apparatus that will bring charges against him when he violates his oath and breaks the law — and then we must remove him from office.”
But if impeachment fails, Moore has a host of other ideas ready to be put into motion. These include organizing a powerful progressive party led by Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and others, reforming the election system to encourage the highest voter turnout and the fairest results, issue a heartfelt apology to Bernie for the way he was treated in the primary, block any and all Supreme Court appointees by Donald Trump, and a whole host of other concrete steps.
While some of Moore’s ideas will appear a bit radical, the heart of it is this: we must take action, and we must start now.
