After a month or so of Clinton health helter skelter from the far-Right, someone has finally taken the fear-mongering to its illogical conclusion and declared that Clinton is completely “mentally impaired.”
Texas Congressman Louis Gohmert commented on Friday during a press conference that those in the media and the GOP should reserve their criticism of Hillary Clinton because she is mentally incapable of handling the presidential burden.
According to Gohmert:
“You don’t make fun of people who are impaired, have special needs. And whether you like her or not, Hillary Clinton has made clear she is mentally impaired and this is not somebody you should be making fun of.”
Wow.
Gohmert wasn’t simply making a snide and insensitive joke, he is full-fledged accusing Clinton of lacking the majority of her mental facilities.
Gohmert continued:
“I get the impression that in law school and along the way, she’s been very, very smart. Maybe it was the concussion, the fall back when she did, or maybe — who knows. They won’t tell us what really is going on with her.”
Whoever “they” is apparently also didn’t show Gohmert the countless moments in which Clinton acted more than competantly.
This fear-mongering about Clinton’s health has got to stop. You cannot create one narrative which says that Clinton is diabolical, scheming, and evil and then turn around and say that in fact she is far too feeble to manage the presidency.
You cannot have both, and we cannot allow Congressmen to lodge such serious allegations at a presidential candidate.
Watch.
