Twitter was all abuzz Monday night as the results began rolling in from the Iowa Caucus. People were stunned (and pleasantly surprised) that despite all polls and posturing, Trump was falling further and further behind.
When media outlets began to announce that Cruz had run away with the Iowa caucus, Twitter exploded with ridicule for the overly-confident candidate coming in far second.
Poor Trump. All those lies, all that racism, all that sexism, and all that hate went to waste in Iowa. #IowaCaucus

Trump supporters are totally shocked. One woman tearfully says, “It’s just heartbreaking. He really wanted to Make America Great Again.”

The most satisfying tweet of the night was probably this much-retweeted post from Trump over two years ago:
“No one remembers who came in second.” – Walter Hagen

Looks like Trump will need to learn how to say congratulations in Canadian.

At this point, it may be that Rubio has a better shot of edging out Trump for 2nd than Trump has of edging out Cruz for 1st. Amazing.

Of course, Trump brought all of this upon himself. You cannot constantly shout that everyone is a loser if you turn out to be a loser yourself.
Surprisingly, Trump seemed humbled in his Iowa concession speech, but people on Twitter are not willing to let the racist candidate pretend that he hasn’t spent his entire campaign maligning everything that isn’t “winning.”
