The Polk County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office is publicly thanking a black man and a Hispanic man who came to the rescue of a white Sheriff’s Deputy who was being beaten up during a traffic stop.
George Cooper and Antonio Velazquez witnessed a man beating up an officer on the side of the road. Rather than think of their own safety, or take the position that a white officer deserved what he was getting, they chased down and subdued the man.
Likely the only thing the GOP is wondering about the incident is whether Antonio Velazquez was an illegal immigrant who should now be deported.
