None of us should be surprised that the mainstream corporate media has been going out of its way to ignore Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in favor of Hillary Clinton and the hacks riding the GOP Clown Car – particularly Donald Trump. However, new figures show just how extreme this bias has become.  Based on data from the GDELT Project, an organization that monitors broadcast and print media around the world, leading networks so far have given Trump six times more coverage than they have Sanders – even on days when the latter drew record-breaking crowds across the nation. When it came to Fox and MSNBC, that ratio was a whopping ten to one.

The reasons should be readily apparent. Aside from the fact that Bernie Sanders’ surging popularity has Corporate America and the billionaire class in a cold sweat, Trump is simply more entertaining. Sanders is just a statesman, talking about those boring old issues like income inequality, growing poverty, the rigged tax system, environmental degradation, corporate crime, and the influence of money in politics. But The Trumpster is a straight-talkin’, no BS kinda candidate. Ol’ Donny tells it like it is..!

Yeah, right.

As our Ring of Fire audience is well aware, Donald Trump is a pathetic, racist clown who panders to the lowest common denominator. But if nothing else, he puts on a damned good show…and the corporate media, which depends on advertising revenue, is well aware of that fact. Trump draws viewership.

In the meantime, Sanders is drawing genuine, enthusiastic support through Internet social media – and a lot of it.  That is a phenomenon the corporate mainstream media has sorely underestimated. Currently, Sanders is out-polling Clinton in New Hampshire and he’s quickly closing the gap in Iowa. This fact alone clearly demonstrates that the mainstream corporate media is completely clueless about the real issues that voters are most concerned with. It’s a big part of the reason that mainstream corporate media is rapidly going extinct.

In the meantime, the ongoing media freak show that is Donald Trump is actually doing Bernie Sanders’ campaign some genuine good. As Sanders quietly builds his base and his candidacy through Internet social media, Trump displays his idiocy on broadcast TV to the entire world. He’s managed to alienate the Hispanic community as well as women – which together, represent a large and important voting bloc.

As Trump continues to dig his own political grave with the help of his friends in the corporate media, Sanders advances on to political greatness.
