Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump doubled down on his disparaging comments that Mexican immigrants are drug smuggling rapists last night during the GOP debates. Stroking his ego, he said “if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be talking about illegal immigration.”

He followed up by driving his idea of building a giant wall along the Mexican-American border, adding that he didn’t “mind having a big beautiful door in that wall so people can come in legally.” Moderator Chris Wallace pushed Trump to provide evidence for his claim that Mexico is actively sending “bad Mexicans” to America. Trump dodged the question and responded with his usual bombast.
