Last week, Senator John McCain called a group of protesters associated with the group Code Pink “low-life scum” and he doesn’t regret it for a moment. The protesters appeared at a hearing in which Henry Kissinger was going to testify.

McCain, in an interview with CNN’s State of the Union host Dana Bash, said he stood by his repulsion to the protesters.

“These people were physically threatening Henry Kissinger. I’m used to people popping up and yelling and then they’re escorted out. That’s at least some version of free speech. These people rushed up. They were right next to Henry Kissinger, waving handcuffs.”
