A man running for District 1 Lafayette Parish School Board in Louisiana is standing behind some horrible comments he made on Facebook, reported Raw Story.

“Coach Don” Gagnard ran for his local school board and will face a runoff elections next month against his opponent, Mary Morrison. However, some highly offensive comments made by Gagnard in the last few months are beginning to resurface, but Gagnard is standing behind what he said.

In August, Gagnard said he’s frustrated with “faggots, bums, illegal aliens most of all: OUR HITLER PRESIDENT.” He continued saying that “OUR PRESIDENT HATES OUR COUNTRY AND YOU ARE REDISTRIBUTING PEOPLES MONEY TO AFRICANS.” He also told the president to “go away and bring your urangutan (sp) with you.” Alongside the obnoxious use of the Caps Lock button, there isn’t a hint of logic and intelligence in Gagnard’s snarling tirade. Not to mention, completely homophobic, hateful, and racist.

The following month, in September, Gagnard said climate change was a communist plot to keep people from working. When questioned by a local TV station about his comments, Gagnard didn’t apologize and admitted to saying those things, proudly. Despite obvious bigotry, he denies being a racist: “If you call me a racist, that’s going to flip back on you. But the f*ggot thing – yeah, you can stick with that.”

Gagnard has since deleted his Facebook account in the weeks leading up to the December 6 runoff election. During the November 4 elections, Gagnard received a 36.5 percent of the vote, which is astonishing considering this man’s hateful opinions. What’s worse, Gagnard is an educator and school coach. He teaches kids.

The whole crazy, right-wing complaint that Obama is like Hitler, or a communist, has gotten trite. Obama isn’t rounding people up in trains, nor is he going door-to-door and taking everyones’ guns. These thoughts were created by paranoid minds and fostered by the Republican fearmongers on Capitol Hill.
